Common questions
Flights from Barcelona — FAQs
What airlines fly from Barcelona?
Barcelona El Prat (BCN) is a major hub with Vueling based there, with the biggest network across Europe. Ryanair, easyJet, Iberia and Wizz Air offer other routes, while Level, Norwegian and the legacy carriers handle long-haul flights to the Americas and Asia. For the cheapest European transfers you'll usually compare Vueling, Ryanair and easyJet.
How do I get from Barcelona airport to the city centre?
The Aerobus is the quickest door-to-door option to Barcelona's city centre from the airport - around 35 minutes to Plaça Catalunya, running every 5-10 minutes for about €7.25 one-way. The R2 Nord train (€4.60, or free with an integrated T-casual ticket) links Terminal 2 to Sants and Passeig de Gràcia, and the L9 Sud metro connects both terminals for €5.75. A taxi to the centre is roughly €35-40 and takes 25-30 minutes.
Which Barcelona airport should I fly from - El Prat, Girona or Reus?
El Prat (BCN) is the obvious choice for almost everyone - it's just 15km from the city with the most routes and the fastest transfers. Girona (GRO) and Reus (REU) sit around 100km away and are used mainly by Ryanair. So only fly from them if the fare saving clearly beats a 90-minute bus transfer each way. Factor in the bus cost and time before you commit to the cheaper initial price.
