Madrid City Pass
One pass. Unlimited city.
Madrid has two city pass products aimed at visitors – the Madrid City Card, issued by the city council, and the Go City Madrid pass from the third-party Go City network. This page covers what each one includes, how the pricing works across different trip lengths, and which makes sense for your itinerary.
Everything in the pass
What's included
Madrid City Card
An unlimited public transport pass with attached attraction discounts. Available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, or 7-day versions from €10 to €42 (Zone A). Issued by Madrid City Council.
Go City Madrid
A third-party all-inclusive or explorer pass covering 20+ paid attractions. The 2-day All-Inclusive pass costs around €109. The Explorer Pass lets you choose 3–7 attractions valid for 30 days.
Unlimited metro and bus
The Madrid City Card covers unlimited metro (Zone A), all EMT blue buses, Cercanías Zones 0 and A, and includes the airport metro supplement – normally €3–4.50 extra.
Royal Palace and Prado guided tours
The Go City All-Inclusive pass includes guided tours of both the Royal Palace (individual ticket from €16) and the Prado. Reservation is required for both – slots can sell out.
What's not included
The Madrid City Card gives discounts at most attractions – not free entry. It does not include free access to the Prado, Reina Sofía, Royal Palace, or Thyssen. The Go City pass does not include public transport.
Where to buy
The Madrid City Card is sold in person only at Madrid City Council Tourist Information Offices (Plaza Mayor, Callao, Paseo del Prado, and others) – it cannot be bought online. Go City is available or the Go City app.

Common questions
FAQs
Is the Madrid City Card worth buying?
As a pure transport pass, yes – if you're making four or more metro or bus journeys a day, it pays for itself quickly. As a sightseeing pass, it's weaker than it looks: most major attractions (Prado, Reina Sofía, Royal Palace) are not included free, only discounted. If you mainly want access to top museums, the Paseo del Arte Card is a better spend. The City Card suits visitors who plan to cover a lot of ground across Madrid's neighbourhoods.
Does the Madrid City Card include the airport metro?
Yes. The airport metro supplement, which normally costs €3–4.50 on top of a standard ticket, is included in all Madrid City Card options. Zone A covers the metro line to Barajas (T1–T3 and T4). The 24-hour Airport Express bus is not included. Note: the card is sold in person only at city tourist offices, not at airport vending machines.
How does the Go City Madrid pass work and is it good value?
Go City Madrid lets you choose between an All-Inclusive day pass (1–5 days) or an Explorer Pass where you pick 3–7 attractions, valid for 30 days. The 2-day All-Inclusive at around €109 makes financial sense only if you're doing Royal Palace, Prado guided tour, Reina Sofía, Big Bus, and a day trip to Toledo – a packed itinerary. For a relaxed five-day trip, the individual math rarely works. Many attractions require advance reservation even with the pass.
