Common questions

Flights from Paris — FAQs

Which Paris airport should I fly from?

Charles de Gaulle (CDG) is the main international hub with the widest network and the best transit connections. Orly (ORY) serves mainly domestic and some European routes; it's further from the RER B line but has its own Orlyval shuttle which is a plus. Beauvais (BVA) is used by Ryanair but is 75km from Paris, so you might need an airport transfer with this option.

Which airlines fly from Paris CDG?

Air France is based at CDG and has the largest flight network, which includes all major long-haul destinations. Corsair, Air Caraïbes, and French Bee serve French overseas territories. Local, budget options include easyJet, Vueling, and Transavia (Air France's budget arm). Long-haul budget options include French Bee for US routes.

How do I get from central Paris to CDG?

If you take RER B from any central station (Gare du Nord, Châtelet-les-Halles, Saint-Michel) it runs to both CDG terminals in around 35 minutes. Serving as a cheap, frequent, and reliable option should you need it. Le Bus Direct is a comfortable coach service that stops at several central Paris hotels. Taxis from the centre cost around €55 and take 35-50 minutes; coaches are a slightly slower, but cost-effective option for airport transfers.

What are the cheapest months to fly from Paris?

January, February, and March (outside school holidays) have the lowest fares. August can also be cheap on some routes as many Parisians leave and demand on intra-Europe routes drops, but bear in mind, the temperature gets hotter every summer. The most expensive periods are July-August for leisure routes, and December for all destinations.
