Rome City Pass

One pass. Unlimited city.

Rome has four competing city pass products, each covering a different combination of sites, transport, and Vatican access. This page compares the Roma Pass (the official city-backed card), the Omnia Vatican and Rome Card, and the Turbopass so you can pick the one that matches your itinerary.

Everything in the pass

What's included

Roma Pass — official card

The city of Rome's own card at €58.50 for 72 hours. Covers two free museum entries (Colosseum complex, Capitoline Museums and 40+ others) plus unlimited ATAC public transport.

Omnia Vatican and Rome Card

The only single pass that bundles skip-the-line Vatican Museums access with Colosseum entry and a hop-on hop-off bus. Priced at around €149 for 72 hours — best for a first trip where Vatican is non-negotiable.

Unlimited ATAC transport

Roma Pass and Omnia both include unlimited travel on Rome's metro (lines A, B, B1, C), buses, and trams for the pass duration. Airport rail links to Fiumicino and Ciampino are not covered.

Colosseum and Roman Forum

All three main passes include the Colosseum, Palatine Hill, and Roman Forum complex. Individual tickets cost around €18 – advance booking is still required even with a pass.

Pantheon not in Roma Pass

The Pantheon requires a separate ticket (around €9.50). It is included in the Turbopass but not in the Roma Pass or Omnia Card – worth accounting for in your itinerary budget.

Common questions

FAQs

Is the Roma Pass worth it for 3 days in Rome?

Yes, if you visit at least two paid sites and use public transport daily. Two free entries covering the Colosseum (€18) and Capitoline Museums (€15) account for €33 in admissions. Add 72 hours of ATAC transport and a discounted third entry and you are clearly ahead of paying separately. It is less worthwhile for families, since under-18s enter state museums free, and for EU citizens under 25 who qualify for discounts.

Does the Rome city pass include Vatican Museums?

The Roma Pass does not include the Vatican Museums – the Vatican is a separate state and outside the city's pass network. The Omnia Vatican and Rome Card is the only single product that combines Vatican skip-the-line access with Rome civic sites and transport. Expect to pay around €149 for the 72-hour version. If Vatican is your priority, the Omnia is the cleaner choice despite the higher price.

Do Rome passes let you skip the Colosseum queue?

Not automatically. All passes that include the Colosseum still require you to book a timed-entry slot in advance – during peak season, slots can sell out three or more weeks ahead. The pass covers the admission cost; it does not replace the booking requirement. The Omnia Card includes facilitated Vatican entry, but Colosseum reservations must still be made separately through the official ticketing site.
